Verizon Wireless Stake at Play

Vodafone confirmed it's in talks to sell its 45 percent stake in Verizon Wireless. The market has been waiting on a deal for a long time, and today's news is sending VOD higher by 8 percent before the opening bell on my tradeMONSTER platform. VZ is up 7 percent, as well.

Strong Margins Push Guess Higher

Guess earned $0.52 a share in the second quarter, crushing the $0.36 average analyst forecast. Sales of $639 million also beat the $622 consensus number. GES rallies 15 percent in early trading.

Shanda Games Beats on Top, Bottom Lines

China's Shanda Games earned $0.24 a share in its second quarter on revenue of $175.6 million. Analysts had only expected $0.20 and $174.74 million, respectively. GAME is up 3 percent in the premarket.

The only problem is that in today's market where things move much more quicker than they did just a few years ago, two days could wind up being the majority of the expected movement, if not the whole movement.
