VIX: SEE CHART GET CHAIN FIND STRATEGIES
The CBOE Volatility Index closed Friday just shy of 20 and about in the middle of last week's range.

The VIX gained 1.06 points on the session, or 5.6 percent, to finish at 19.89. The S&P 500 saw its lowest close since March 7. The two indexes usually move inversely.

The May VIX futures only have two days of trading left, finishing the week up 0.75 points to 20.10. The June futures were up 0.7 points to 21.55.

The VIX options traded 308,000 contracts, 186,000 of which were calls. The iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN (VXX) saw more than 221,000 options trade, with puts just barely outpacing calls.
