Starwood Hotels Bullish on 2013
Starwood Hotels & Resorts earned $0.70 a share in the fourth quarter on revenue of $1.533 billion. Analysts had only expected $0.65 and $1.49 billion, respectively. The outlook is also strong as business travel improves, and HOT is up 3 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.
Akamai Falls on Weak Outlook, Revenue Miss
Akamai Technologies reported strong fourth-quarter earnings, but revenue missed and guidance was weak. First-quarter sales are expected to be no more than $362 million, while the Street was forecasting $371 million. AKAM plunges 16 percent in early trading.
TriQuint Guidance Underwhelms the Street
TriQuint Semiconductor sees first-quarter revenue of $180 million to $190 million and a per-share loss of $0.12 to $0.14. Consensus was for $205 million on the top line and breakeven on the bottom line. TQNT falls 11 percent in the premarket.
