Deal Ends Years of Patent Litigation

Rambus announced it settled a patent dispute with South Korea's SK Hynix, ending years of litigation. The California company will also collect $240 million over the next five years as part of the deal. RMBS surges 10 percent before the opening bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Ulta Salon Surges on Earnings Beat

Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance earned $0.65 a share in the first quarter on revenue of $582.7 million. Analysts had only expected $0.62 and $576 million, respectively. ULTA gains 10 percent in the premarket.

Spectra Gains on Pipeline Plan

Spectra Energy told CNBC's Jim Cramer yesterday that the company decided to put its natural-gas pipelines and storage assets into a master limited partnership. That will allow some nice upside to the dividend and analysts are liking the move. SE climbs 9 percent in early trading.

As I stated in last week's article, a break out or a break down needs to have a couple things happen before it is considered a confirmed break out or break down. The only problem is that in today's market where things move much more quicker than they did just a few years ago, two days could wind up being the majority of the expected movement, if not the whole movement.
