North American, Chinese Orders Climb

Nike earned $0.73 a share in its third quarter, beating the $0.67 expected by analysts. Revenue missed, but margins improved, and investors were heartened by stronger demand in China. NKE rallies almost 8 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Micron Surges on Revenue Beat

Pete cited the bullish call buying in Micron yesterday, and the company came through after the bell last night with quarterly revenue of $2.08 billion. That was well above the $1.92 billion consensus estimate. Management also said demand for its memory chips is improving. MU advanced more than 7 percent in early trading.

Top Line Weakness Sinks Tibco

Tibco Software's profit inched past Street expectations, but revenue of $237.8 million lagged the $242.45 million estimate. TIBX craters 16 percent on the news.
