FST: SEE CHART GET CHAIN FIND STRATEGIES

Eagle Ford Shale in Focus

Forest Oil is selling assets in the Texas Panhandle for $1 billion. The cash will be used to pay down debt, letting the company focus on core operations in the Eagle Ford Shale region. FST rose 9 percent before the opening bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Xyratex Drops on Weak Guidance

Xyratex reported better-than-expected earnings and revenue, but the guidance going forward was weak. Fourth-quarter sales will range from $190 million to $220 million, suggesting they will miss the $218 million average analyst forecast. XRTX falls 9 percent in early trading.

Piper Upgrades OpenTable

OpenTable was upgraded to "overnight" by Piper Jaffray, which sees benefits from increased mobile advertising. The price target was upped to $80 from $65. OPEN climbs 3 percent in the premarket.
