Glaucoma Drug Going to Market
Sucampo Pharmaceuticals said that the Food and Drug Administration approved its Rescula drug for patients suffering open-angle glaucoma. The product will be marketed in the first quarter of next year. SCMP is up 14 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.
Costco Earnings, Revenue Beat
Costco reported first-quarter earnings of $0.95 a share, beating the $0.93 consensus estimate. Revenue of $23.72 billion also beat the $23.67 billion expected by analysts. COST is up 1 percent in early trading.
Clearwire Up on Buyout Chatter
Clearwire popped yesterday on reports that Sprint Nextel would buy out minority investors Intel and Comcast. CLWR, which offers wireless broadband services, is active again this morning and is up another 3 percent in the premarket.
