Improving Hotel Demand Drives Bookings

Expedia earned $1.43 a share on revenue of $1.40 billion. Analysts had only expected $1.35 and $1.37 billion, respectively. Bookings rose 15 percent, driven by hotel reservations, and business was strong domestically and overseas. EXPE rallies 17 percent before the opening bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Avon Earnings, Revenue Miss

Avon Products reported third-quarter profit of $0.14, missing the $0.19 consensus estimate. Sales totaled just $2.32 billion, also below the $2.44 billion Street number. AVP declines 11 percent in the premarket.

Skyworks Beats, Issues Strong Guidance

Skyworks Solutions earned $0.64 a share on revenue of $477 million. That compares with analysts' $0.62 profit estimate and $474.7 million revenue estimate. Guidance was also strong, and SWKS advances 6 percent in early trading.
