Quarterly Loss Narrower Than Feared
Deckers Outdoors reported a second-quarter loss of $0.53 a share, but analysts had expected a loss of $0.60. Sales of $174.4 million also exceeded the $166.8 million consensus number. DECK rallies 14 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.
Expedia Reports Another Strong Quarter
Expedia earned $0.89 on revenue of $1.04 billion. The Street had only anticipated $0.71 on revenue of $989.6 million. EXPE climbs 14 perecnt in the premarket.
Merck Gives The Bulls A Shot In The Arm
Merck's second-quarter profit was $1.05, ahead of the $1.01 consensus number. Revenue was $12.31 billion, also better than the $12.15 billion estimate. MRK advances 2 percent in early trading.
Higher Costs Darken Facebook Results
Facebook's revenue was $1.18 billion about $30 million more than expected. But profit was only inline as costs increased, and management failed to provide outlook going forward. FB, which fell yesterday on Zynga's results, drops another 13 percent in the premarket today.
