iPhone Orders Give Cirrus a Boost

Cirrus Logic earned $0.22 a share in its first quarter, beating the $0.21 consensus estimate. The real news, however, was guidance. Second-quarter revenue will be $170 million to $190 million, much higher than the $129.7 million expected by analysts. Orders for Apple's iPhone5 appear to be the catalyst. CRUS surges 21 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Strong Quarter for Kulicke & Soffa

Kulicke & Soffa Industries reported second-quarter profit of $0.90 a share on revenue of $255.53 million. Analysts had only expected $0.67 and $239.55 million, respectively. Guidance was also much higher than forecasts. KLIC rallies 12 percent on the news.

Provenge Sales Hammer Dendreon

Dendreon had weak sales of its key Provenge cancer drug, with total revenue of just $80 million, almost $6 million less than expected. Management is responding by shuttering a plant in New Jersey and cutting 600 jobs. DNDN craters 15 percent in the premarket.

Revenue Miss Weighs On Coach

Coach earned $0.86 a share, beating the $0.85 consensus estimate. Revenue, however, was just $1.16 billion, while analysts had expected $1.2 billion. That's sending COH lower by 14 percent in early trading.
