Westport Innovations struck a deal with Caterpillar to include its natural-gas technology in off-road vehicles such as mining trucks and trains. WPRT is higher by 7 percent in my tradeMONSTER platform.
Dollar General Investors Sell the Top
Dollar General reported better-than-expected sales and earnings, but it also announced that certain existing holders will unload 25 million shares. DG, which is near an all-time high and has a large number of untraded shares outside the market, is down more than 4 percent on the news.
Amylin Continues to Draw Bids
Amylin Pharmaceuticals continues to draw interest, according to Bloomberg. Bids have come from companies including AstaZeneca and Bristol-Myers Squibb, with some indicating interest as high as $29. AMLN, which closed at $26.63 yesterday, is up 3 percent before the bell.
