Strong Results for the Networking Site
LinkedIn earned $0.35 a share in the fourth quarter on revenue of $303.6 million. Those results beat the estimates of analysts who had only forecast $0.19 and $279.5 million, respectively. Guidance was also strong as the business-networking company continues to grow. LNKD rallies 10 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.
Activision Earnings, Revenue Beat Consensus
Activision Blizzard earned $0.78 a share in the fourth quarter on revenue of $2.6 billion. Analysts had only expected $0.72 and $2.44 billion, respectively. Management credited strong sales of its "Call of Duty" and "Skylanders" games. ATVI is up 8 percent in early trading
Bears Hammer Nuance as Costs Mount
Nuance Communications earned just $0.35 in its first quarter, missing the $0.36 average analyst estimate. Revenue matched expectations, but full-year profit guidance was lowered as margins come under pressure. NUAN drops 16 percent in the pre-market.
