Exploring Alternatives for K&G

Men's Wearhouse announced mixed results for the fourth quarter, but the big news was an announcement it had hired Jefferies to consider strategic alternatives for its K&G business. That has MW up 13 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Amazon Downgraded by JP Morgan

Amazon.com was downgraded to "neutral" from "overweight" by JP Morgan. The bank cited the likelihood of slower earnings growth, sending AMZN lower by almost 2 percent in the pre-market.

E*Trade Falls on Planned Share Sale

E*Trade Financial announced that hedge-fund operator Citadel would unload its 10 percent stake in the company. ETFC drops about 5 percent in early trading.

As I stated in last week's article, a break out or a break down needs to have a couple things happen before it is considered a confirmed break out or break down. The only problem is that in today's market where things move much more quicker than they did just a few years ago, two days could wind up being the majority of the expected movement, if not the whole movement.
