Profit, Revenue Exceed Expectations
OpenTable earned $0.42 a share on revenue of $39.6 million. Analysts had expected $0.37 and $39.4 million, respectively. Management also increased earnings forecasts for the current quarter. OPEN rallies 14 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.
LinkedIn Gets a Boost From Reveune
LinkedIn's profit was in line with expectations, but revenue of $228.2 million beat the $216.3 million consensus estimate. It also raised full-year outlook to $915 million to $925 million from a previous range of $880 million to $900 million. LNKD climbs 8 percent on the news.
Blue Diamond Reports Gem of a Quarter
Online diamond seller Blue Nile reported second-quarter profit of $0.11, beating the $0.07 average analyst estimate. Revenue was $90.98 million, ahead of the $88.89 million Street expectation. Long-term guidance was also strong. NILE rallied 22 percent on the news yesterday afternoon, but hasn't traded yet this morning.
Zipcar Craters on Poor Results
Zipcar had a loss of $0.01 a share on revenue of $70.8 million. Analysts had expected breakeven profit and revenue of $73 million. ZIP plunges 32 percent in early trading.
Toyota Blows Past Consensus
Toyota Motors earned 353 billion yen in the second quarter, better than the 314 million expected by analysts. It also raised its global sales forecast, sending TM higher by 4 percent in the premarket.
