DaVinci Sales Turning Negative

Intuitive Surgical issued preliminary numbers for the second quarter, and they weren't pretty! Revenue will be just $575 million, well below the $629 million consensus forecast. Management also said sales of its DaVinci surgical systems will decline 6 percent year over year. ISRG drops 14 percent before the opening bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Amarin Drops on Plan to Sell Shares

Amarin announced it plans to sell 21.7 million American Depositary Shares, with underwriters having a 30-day option to purchase 3.255 million more. AMRN is down 8 percent on the news in early trading.

WD-40 Earnings, Revenue Beat

WD-40 reported quarterly profit of $0.66 a share on revenue of $93 million. Analysts had only expected $0.56 and $87 million, respectively. WDFC, which also raised full-year guidance, rose 14 percent in the pre-market.

As I stated in last week's article, a break out or a break down needs to have a couple things happen before it is considered a confirmed break out or break down. The only problem is that in today's market where things move much more quicker than they did just a few years ago, two days could wind up being the majority of the expected movement, if not the whole movement.
