MAKO Plunges on Weak Sales
MAKO Surgical managed to sell only nine of its expensive RIO surgical robots in the second quarter, while analysts had expected 11 to be sold. The company also lowered its full-year estimate of how many devices will be bought. MAKO craters 34 percent on the news.
MagicJack Beats Already Raised Guidance
magicJack VocalTec reported in a preliminary release it earned $0.48 to $0.52 a share in the second quarter on revenue of $37.50 million to $38.50 million. A month ago, the company had forecast earnings of $0.43 on revenue of $36 million. CALL is up by 7 percent in the premarket.
Advanced Micro Reports Surprise Revenue Drop
Advanced Micro Devices said that second-quarter revenue declined about 11 percent because of weakness in China and Europe. It had previously forecast growth of about 3 percent. AMD drops 9 percent before the bell.
