Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with unusual option activity on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Workday (WDAY): Traders purchased more than 3,500 Weekly 87 puts expiring on Sept. 26, most of which priced for $4.80 to $4.90. The activity may be protective with quarterly results due after the closing bell next Wednesday. WDAY rose 0.21 percent to $87.99.

Liberty Interactive (LINTA): Some 4,800 January 31 calls were bought for $1 to $1.15 as investors look for upside in the global e-commerce company. LINTA rose 0.44 percent to $29.39.

Zions Bancorp (ZION): More than 3,600 September 30 calls traded for $0.20 to $0.36, but volume was below open interest at the strike. ZION fell 0.10 percent to $28.98.

As I stated in last week's article, a break out or a break down needs to have a couple things happen before it is considered a confirmed break out or break down. The only problem is that in today's market where things move much more quicker than they did just a few years ago, two days could wind up being the majority of the expected movement, if not the whole movement.
