Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

WPX Energy (WPX): More than 11,000 January 22.50 calls were purchased, mostly for $0.40, as investors look for upside in the oil and gas stock. WPX rose 3.01 percent to $20.19.

McGraw Hill Financial (MHFI): Some 6,000 May 77.50 calls were bought for $3.40 and $3.65 as investors look for more gains by the middle of next year. MHFI rose 2.06 percent to $75.34.

Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRE): Some 2,500 January 20 calls were bought, mostly for $0.55 to $0.75, as traders look for a rally in the share price. GPRE rose 6.98 percent to $19.32.

As I stated in last week's article, a break out or a break down needs to have a couple things happen before it is considered a confirmed break out or break down. The only problem is that in today's market where things move much more quicker than they did just a few years ago, two days could wind up being the majority of the expected movement, if not the whole movement.
