Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Marathon Petroleum (MPC): A block of 20,000 January 90 calls was bought for $3.90 as an investor positioned for continued upside in the oil refiner. MPC rose 0.60 percent to $78.26.
Talisman Energy (TLM): A block of 10,500 July 15 calls was bought for $0.45. Volume was below open interest at the strike, so it could result from an investor closing a short position or betting on a rally. TLM fell 1.44 percent to $12.33.

Merck (MRK): Almost 12,000 January 2015 50 calls were bought for $0.94 and $0.98 as investors seek a long-term rally in the drug maker. MRK fell 0.41 percent to $40.92.

Nokia (NOK): Some 10,000 April 4.50 puts were bought for $0.71 and 10,000 February 5 puts were sold for $0.90, but volume was below open interest at both strikes. NOK fell 1.21 percent to $4.07.
