Santander (SAN): A block of more than 16,000 January 2014 7 calls was purchased for $1.15 as investors look for the Spanish lender to appreciate over the next 18 months. SAN rose 2.28 percent to $6.07.
Ford Motor (F): More than 12,000 March 9 calls were purchased for $0.87 against open interest of 4,932 contracts as investors look for upside in the beaten-down automaker. F rose 1.11 percent to $9.10.
Facebook (FB): More than 9,000 August 25 puts were bought for $1.40 to $1.50 against open interest of 5,515 contracts, as traders seek downside in the social-media stock. FB declined 2.81 percent to $23.04.
Walgreen (WAG): Some 5,000 January 25 puts were bought for $0.22, but volume was far below open interest in the strike. WAG rose 0.85 percent to $26.03.
