SPY: SEE CHART GET CHAIN FIND STRATEGIES
Total option volume is relatively light so far today at 4.6 million contracts, with the usual names topping the index and ETF activity, optionMONSTER's data systems show.

The SPDR S&P 500 Fund (SPY) has 660,000 options traded, led by 400,000 puts. Next on the list are the S&P 500 Index (SPX) options at 138,000, 85,000 of which are puts. Just behind are the iShares Russell 2000 Fund (IWM) contracts at 135,000, with 89,000 puts.

The PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ) has 117,000 options changing hands as puts slightly outpace calls. The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) options follow closely at 116,000, with calls slightly outpacing puts.

The SPDR Gold Shares Fund (GLD) has 72,000 options turning over, with calls outnumbering puts by 2 to 1. And the iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN (VXX) has seen 68,000 contracts trade, with calls outpacing puts.
