SPY: SEE CHART GET CHAIN FIND STRATEGIES
Total options activity is very light as the final week of summer begins, with the typical names dominating activity.

Fewer than 4 million contracts have traded so far this morning in total. The SPDR S&P 500 sees volume of 455,000 including 260,000 puts. The PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ) is the only other fund to break 100,000 and just barely, 57,000 of which are puts.

The S&P 500 Index (SPX) options trade 87,000 contracts, with puts outpacing calls almost 3-1. The iShares Russell 2000 Fund (IWM) has 71,000, with a put to call ratio of 3-1. Just behind are the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) options with 69,000, with calls just outpacing puts.

The SPDR Gold Shares Fund (GLD) has volume of 48,000, evenly split between calls and puts. The iShares Silver Fund (SLV) has 44,000, with 30,000 calls. And just behind that are the iPath S&P 500 VIX Short Term Futures Fund (VXX) with 42,000, also with 30,000 calls.
