SPY: SEE CHART GET CHAIN FIND STRATEGIES
Total option volume has just topped 4.7 million contracts, with mixed action in the indexes and ETFs, according to optionMONSTER's data systems.

The SPDR S&P 500 Fund (SPY) has 589,000 options traded, dominated by 428,000 puts. The next-largest volume comes in the S&P 500 Index (SPX) at 173,000, led by 103,000 puts. The iShares Emerging Markets Fund (EEM) has 118,000 contracts changing hands, with 67,000 calls outpacing puts.

The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) has 97,000 options traded, 76,000 of which are calls. The PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ) has seen 83,000 contracts turn over, with a put/call ratio of 2 to 1. The iShares Russell 2000 Fund (IWM) has seen 75,000 options move, including 45,000 puts. The SPDR Gold Shares Fund (GLD) has 65,000 options traded, with 47,000 calls.
