SPY: SEE CHART GET CHAIN FIND STRATEGIES
Total option volume has picked up with 6 million contracts traded so far this morning, while calls dominate the index and ETF activity, optionMONSTER's data systems show.

The SPDR S&P 500 Fund (SPY) has 1.3 million options traded, with 768,000 puts. The iShares Russell 2000 Fund (IWM) has 200,000 contracts moving, with puts outpacing calls by more than 2 to 1. Just behind are the PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ) options at 196,000, led by 107,000 puts.

The S&P 500 Index (SPX) options have turned over 176,000 times, with 108,000 calls. The SPDR Technology Fund (XLK) has traded 131,000 contracts, topped by 129,000 calls.

The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) has 121,000 options changing hands, with 81,000 calls. The SPDR Gold Shares Fund (GLD) has seen 73,000 contracts trade, with 43,000 calls.
