SPY: SEE CHART GET CHAIN FIND STRATEGIES
Total option volume is light again as just 4 million contracts have traded so far today, with mixed action in the indexes and ETFs, according to optionMONSTER's data systems.

The SPDR S&P 500 Fund (SPY) has 569,000 contracts, with a put/call ratio of more than 2 to 1. The S&P 500 Index (SPX) options are next with volume of 151,000, led by 90,000 puts. Not far behind are the iShares Russell 2000 Fund (IWM) options at 123,000 as puts outpace calls by 3 to 1.

The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) has 97,000 contracts changing hands, dominated by 74,000 calls. The SPDR Industrial Fund (XLI) options have turned over 82,000 times, with fewer than 1,000 calls.

The PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ) options are right behind at 79,000. The SPDR Materials Fund (XLB) has 56,000 options traded, with fewer than 800 calls. (See related story)
