SPY: SEE CHART GET CHAIN FIND STRATEGIES
Calls are very active in the indexes and ETFs as total option volume hits 4.7 million contracts so far today, optionMONSTER's data systems show.

The SPDR S&P 500 Fund (SPY) leads the way as usual with 950,000 contracts, as puts slightly outnumber calls. The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) options have traded 242,000 times, dominated by 200,000 calls.

The iShares Russell 2000 Fund (IWM) has 190,000 options changing hands, with a put/call ratio of 2 to 1. The S&P 500 Index (SPX) has seen 177,000 trade, with calls leading puts by a small margin. The PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ) has 135,000 contracts turning over, including 82,000 puts.

The iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN (VXX) has 63,000 options traded, of which 35,000 are puts. The iShares Emerging Markets Fund (EEM) is seeing 55,000 contracts change hands, 27,000 of them calls.
