SPY: SEE CHART GET CHAIN FIND STRATEGIES
Total option volume is strong again today with 6.7 million contracts already changing hands, led by the usual indexes and ETFs, optionMONSTER's data systems show.

The SPDR S&P 500 Fund (SPY) has 1.5 million options traded, 878,000 of which are puts. Following are the S&P 500 Index (SPX) options with volume of 354,000, with a put/call ratio of less than 2 to 1. The PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ) has seen 345,000 contracts turn over, with a similar put/call ratio.

The iShares Russell 2000 Fund (IWM) sees 276,000 options changing hands, led by 186,000  puts. The SPDR Gold Shares Fund (GLD) has 145,000 contracts moving, including 96,000 calls.

The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) options traded 123,000 times, with 78,000 calls. The iShares Emerging Markets Fund (EEM) has 109,000 contracts traded, also with calls outpacing puts.
