SPY: SEE CHART GET CHAIN FIND STRATEGIES
Total option volume tops 5.6 million contracts so far today, with index and ETF volumes fading as calls become more active, optionMONSTER's data systems show.

The SPDR S&P 500 Fund (SPY) has 704,000 options traded, with just slightly more puts than calls. The iShares Russell 2000 Fund (IWM) has 258,000 contracts changing hands, though puts outpace calls by more than 2 to 1. Just behind are the S&P 500 Index (SPX) options with 251,000 options and a put/call ratio just under 2 to 1.

The PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ) has 173,000 contracts moving, 96,000 of which are puts. The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) has seen 86,000 options turn over, with 51,000 calls.

The iShares Emerging Markets Fund (EEM) has 85,000 option trading, also with a put/call ratio approaching 2 to 1. Just behind are the SPDR Gold Shares Fund (GLD) options, with slightly more calls than puts.

The SPDR Financial Fund (XLF) has 71,000 options traded, all but 3,200 of them puts. The iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures Fund (VXX) has 62,000 contracts changing hands, slightly more puts than calls.
