SPY: SEE CHART GET CHAIN FIND STRATEGIES
Total option volume just tops 5.1 million contracts so far today as puts again make up the majority of the equity indexes and exchange-traded products, according to optionMONSTER's data systems.

The SPDR S&P 500 Fund (SPY) has seen 870,000 contracts trade with a put/call ratio of greater than 2 to 1. The S&P 500 Index (SPX) options have changed hands 265,000 times, with a put/call ratio approaching 3 to 1.

The iShares Russell 2000 Fund (IWM) has 198,000 contracts moving, also with puts outpacing calls by almost 3 to 1. The PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ) options total 175,000 and are split evenly. The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) has 125,000 options turning over, 111,000 of which are calls.

The SPDR Gold Shares Fund (GLD) has 48,000 options trading, with calls outnumbering puts by 2 to 1. Just behind are the iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures Fund (VXX) options at 46,000, with slightly more calls than puts.
